In Milan, we proudly present the Madrid Charter, a vital tool with innovative strategies to tackle obesity. Unlike ineffective existing public health policies, the Madrid Charter offers a comprehensive new approach that benefits the economy, society, and individuals.
Developed from the “Malnutrition: A Multidisciplinary Approach” symposium held in Madrid on May 20th, 2024, the Charter is a collaborative effort among Italian and Spanish experts from various fields, including medicine, nutrition, economics, psychology, sociology, and urban planning.
The Madrid Charter addresses obesity through a multidisciplinary lens, focusing on the decline in adherence to the Mediterranean Diet, the socioeconomic impacts, and genetics.
