ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION AND INDUSTRIAL POLICES
The ecological transition from combustion engines to green technology cannot be driven by ideologies but by strategic visions. Italy cannot blame Europe, considering we are the country with the highest number of officials in Brussels, over 14,000. Yet, many reforms, such as those tied to the Green Deal, have not protected our interests. Commissioner Tajani was a positive example, successfully creating a system for Italy. But before and after him, there was nothing.

Regarding Stellantis and the crisis in the automotive industry, the company has prioritized the U.S. market and financial strategies, neglecting competitive products. It is crucial to differentiate Stellantis from the broader automotive sector and evaluate whether it is worth continuing investment in it, or whether resources should be redirected to the automotive components sector and SMEs. Focus should be placed on exports and leveraging Italy’s strengths, such as Ferrari. Courage and targeted industrial policies are needed.

SYRIA AND THE MIDDLE EAST

On Syria and the Middle East, the situation remains unstable despite the end of a brutal dictatorship. The question of who will govern remains unresolved, creating an environment of uncertainty that could benefit Israel, which has sought stability in the region through the Abraham Accords. However, this instability presents a challenge for Europe, which remains unprepared to effectively address such crises.

EUROPEAN DEFENSE AND THE ROLE OF THE USA

The USA has effectively turned military spending into strategic investments through ‘dual-use’ economics, channeling funds into key areas such as healthcare and education. Europe must follow this path by building a transparent and strategic deterrence system that strengthens our values and reinvests in growth.

Increasing defense spending without a clear vision makes no sense. Transparency and a European strategy are essential to ensure security and progress.
